Mentor Terms | MastiffMode

1. Agreement

These Mentor Terms apply when you establish a mentor relationship in MastiffMode. By accepting a mentee or becoming a mentor, you agree to these terms and to MastiffMode's main Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

2. Definition of Mentor Relationship

A mentor relationship in MastiffMode is:

Voluntary: Both mentor and mentee must consent to the relationship
Non-Exclusive: Mentors may mentor multiple traders; mentees may have multiple mentors
Educational: Mentors provide guidance on trader development, not financial advice
Revocable: Either party may terminate the relationship at any time

A mentor relationship does not create:

Employment or partnership
Fiduciary duty or legal obligation
Financial responsibility or liability
Professional licensing or credentials
Exclusivity or commitment beyond the relationship itself

3. Mentor Responsibilities

3.1 Professional Conduct

As a mentor, you agree to:

Treat mentees with respect and professionalism
Provide feedback in a constructive, supportive manner
Respect mentee autonomy and decision-making authority
Maintain appropriate boundaries
Not pressure, manipulate, or coerce mentees into specific trades
Communicate clearly and honestly

3.2 Scope of Guidance

As a mentor, you agree to:

Provide feedback on trader development and learning progress only
Comment on discipline, psychology, risk management, and strategy adherence
Help mentees reflect on their performance and development
Share your own experience and lessons learned
Point mentees toward Academy resources or additional learning

As a mentor, you agree NOT to:

Provide financial advice or investment recommendations
Recommend specific trades or instruments
Generate or provide trading signals
Predict market direction or prices
Guarantee profitable outcomes
Act as a licensed financial adviser or fiduciary
Manage money on behalf of your mentee
Direct your mentee to specific trades ("You should buy EUR/USD")

3.3 Confidentiality

As a mentor, you agree to:

Keep your mentee's trading records, journal entries, and personal information confidential
Not share mentee data with other traders, third parties, or the public
Not publish or discuss mentee trades without explicit written consent
Not use mentee information competitively against them
Respect the private, development-focused nature of the mentor relationship

3.4 No Unauthorized Access

You agree to:

Access only the trading records and information your mentee has authorized for the relationship
Not attempt to access mentee data outside the MastiffMode mentor interface
Not request usernames, passwords, or direct access to mentee accounts
Not download or export mentee data except through authorized MastiffMode features
Not use mentee information outside the scope of the mentoring relationship

4. Mentee Responsibilities

4.1 Autonomy and Decision-Making

As a mentee, you understand that:

All trading decisions are your own responsibility
Your mentor is not directing your trades or managing your account
Your mentor's feedback is guidance, not advice you must follow
You are responsible for your outcomes, losses, and performance
Your mentor is not liable for your trading results

4.2 Appropriate Requests

You agree not to:

Ask your mentor to provide specific trade recommendations
Ask your mentor to manage your account or make trades on your behalf
Ask your mentor to guarantee profitability or outcomes
Share your broker login credentials with your mentor
Request that your mentor access external accounts or systems

4.3 Respecting Mentor Boundaries

You agree to:

Accept that your mentor may not respond immediately to messages
Respect your mentor's time and availability
Not demand exclusive access or responsiveness guarantees
Not pressure your mentor into inappropriate commitments
Understand that the mentor relationship can be terminated by either party

5. Termination of Mentor Relationship

5.1 Termination by Either Party

Either the mentor or mentee may terminate the relationship at any time for any reason. Termination takes effect immediately.

5.2 Upon Termination

When a mentor relationship ends:

The mentor loses access to the mentee's trading records and information
The mentee loses the ability to send feedback requests
Previous feedback and communications remain in the mentee's account
The mentor may not further use or access mentee data
The relationship is considered concluded

5.3 No Retention of Data

Upon termination, mentors agree to:

Immediately cease access to and use of mentee data
Not retain, download, export, or maintain copies of mentee information
Not share mentee data with anyone else
Understand that unauthorized retention or use violates these terms and MastiffMode policy

6. Mentor Restrictions

6.1 Prohibited Mentor Conduct

As a mentor, you agree not to:

Financial Advice: Provide financial advice, investment recommendations, or trading signals
Market Predictions: Predict market direction, price movement, or currency trends
Guarantee Results: Guarantee profitability, trading success, or account growth
Solicitation: Solicit funds, charge fees, or seek payment from mentees outside authorized MastiffMode channels
Unauthorized Account Access: Request passwords, broker login credentials, or direct account access
Commercial Exploitation: Use mentee information competitively, commercially, or without authorization
Harassment or Coercion: Pressure, manipulate, or coerce mentees into actions or trades
Inappropriate Conduct: Engage in harassment, discrimination, or abusive behavior
Unauthorized Use: Use mentee data for purposes outside the mentoring relationship
System Abuse: Bypass MastiffMode controls or access mentee data outside authorized channels

7. No Liability Assumption

7.1 Mentor Liability Disclaimer

Mentors are not liable for:

Mentee trading losses or poor performance
Mentee failure to pass funded-trader evaluations
Mentee account liquidation or margin calls
Mentee emotional distress or psychological impact
Market outcomes or trading results
Mentee interpretation or application of feedback
Mentee trading decisions or strategy changes

7.2 No Fiduciary Duty

Mentors do not assume fiduciary duty or special legal responsibility for mentees. Mentorship is advisory guidance only, not legal or financial responsibility.

8. Data Protection and Privacy

8.1 Mentee Data is Confidential

Mentee trading records, journal entries, psychology records, and strategy are confidential. You agree not to:

Discuss mentee performance or trades publicly
Share mentee data with other mentors or coaches
Use mentee information for competitive trading
Disclose mentee identity or participation without consent
Aggregate or compare mentee data with other traders

8.2 GDPR and Privacy Compliance

If you mentor traders in the EU or if you handle data subject to GDPR:

You must comply with GDPR requirements
You must honor data-subject access requests
You must delete data upon mentee request (to the extent technically possible)
You must maintain appropriate data-processing agreements

9. Mentor Conduct Standards

9.1 Professional Standards

Mentors are expected to:

Communicate clearly and honestly
Provide constructive, specific feedback
Acknowledge limitations of your knowledge or experience
Respect mentee preferences and boundaries
Adapt to mentee learning style and needs
Maintain professionalism in all communications

9.2 Ethics and Compliance

Mentors are expected to:

Comply with all applicable laws and regulations
Not encourage illegal or unethical trading
Not promote schemes or manipulation
Not use insider information or confidential data inappropriately
Report misconduct to MastiffMode if you become aware of it

10. MastiffMode's Role

10.1 What MastiffMode Provides

MastiffMode provides:

The mentoring platform and tools
Relationship matching and connection
Communication channels
Mentee feedback/review interface
Data storage and protection
Dispute resolution mechanisms

10.2 What MastiffMode Does Not Provide

MastiffMode does not:

Guarantee mentor quality or expertise
Screen or certify mentors as professionals
Assume responsibility for mentor conduct
Provide legal protection for mentors
Monitor every mentor interaction
Guarantee mentee outcomes or satisfaction

10.3 MastiffMode is Not Liable

MastiffMode is not liable for:

Mentor conduct or misconduct
Mentee outcomes or trading results
Disputes between mentors and mentees
Breach of confidentiality by mentors
Quality or accuracy of mentor feedback

11. Dispute Resolution

11.1 Informal Resolution

If you have a dispute with a mentor or mentee:

Attempt to resolve directly through respectful communication
If unresolved, contact MastiffMode support
MastiffMode may facilitate communication or mediation

11.2 Escalation

MastiffMode may:

Investigate alleged misconduct
Suspend or terminate relationships
Remove mentors or mentees from the platform
Report illegal conduct to authorities

11.3 No MastiffMode Liability

MastiffMode is not liable for disputes between mentors and mentees, even if MastiffMode attempts mediation or investigation.

12. Removal from Mentor Platform

MastiffMode may remove a mentor or mentee if:

They violate these Mentor Terms or the main Terms of Service
They engage in illegal or unethical conduct
They abuse or harass the other party
They attempt to circumvent MastiffMode systems
They violate confidentiality or data-protection requirements
They solicit unauthorized payments
They provide financial advice or trading signals

Removal may be immediate and without notice for serious violations.

13. Compensation

13.1 No Required Compensation

Mentorship in MastiffMode is voluntary and unpaid, unless:

MastiffMode offers a paid mentor program (no such program currently exists)
The mentor and mentee establish a separate, private payment arrangement outside MastiffMode

13.2 Unauthorized Payments

You agree not to:

Solicit payments through private channels
Require payment for mentorship through MastiffMode
Charge fees for feedback or guidance
Accept compensation that creates undisclosed conflicts of interest

14. Intellectual Property

14.1 Feedback as MastiffMode Content

Mentor feedback provided through MastiffMode:

Remains part of the mentee's account
Is stored by MastiffMode for backup and security
Is accessible to the mentee indefinitely
May not be proprietary to the mentor personally

14.2 Mentee Strategy

Mentee trading strategies, journal entries, and recorded decisions:

Remain the mentee's property
Are not the mentor's intellectual property
Cannot be claimed by the mentor or used competitively
Cannot be publicly disclosed by the mentor without written consent

15. Mentor Relationship and Liability

15.1 Clear Disclaimer

You understand that:

You are not a financial adviser, broker, or licensed professional (unless separately licensed)
You do not guarantee any outcomes or results
You are not responsible for mentee trading losses or account status
Your feedback is educational guidance, not professional advice
Mentee autonomy and decision-making responsibility remain with the mentee

15.2 Indemnification

You agree to indemnify MastiffMode if:

Your conduct violates these Mentor Terms
You engage in unauthorized financial advice or solicitation
You violate a mentee's confidentiality or privacy
You cause harm through mentor conduct
You circumvent MastiffMode systems or access controls

16. Term and Modifications

These Mentor Terms apply as long as you maintain a mentor relationship in MastiffMode. MastiffMode may modify these terms at any time. Continued mentorship constitutes acceptance of modified terms.

17. Severability

If any provision of these Mentor Terms is unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect.
